The Atelier Partnership
AUVÉE pieces are crafted at The Atelier Chiang Mai, a women-led studio that has become essential to everything we create. Led by Belgian-trained designer Nathalie Fordeyn, the atelier combines technical precision with refined aesthetic sensibility, perfectly aligned with AUVÉE's standards.
The team includes experienced patternmakers and skilled tailors, many of whom are mothers balancing professional craft with family responsibilities. Some work in the studio's compact floors; others sew from home, maintaining their livelihoods while staying present for their families.
Why Chiang Mai?
Chiang Mai's textile heritage and measured pace naturally support our approach. The region's history of craftsmanship creates an environment where patient patternmaking and iterative refinement are valued over rushed production.
Proximity matters deeply. Being minutes from the workshop allows hands-on involvement in every development stage: reviewing toiles, adjusting proportions, testing fabric behavior in the same climate where pieces will be worn.
Collaborative Process
Our partnership goes beyond transactional manufacturing. Each style evolves through shared refinement: from initial patterns through prototypes to final samples. Continuous dialogue about fit, comfort, and construction ensures every piece meets exacting standards.
The Atelier handles complete production, from pattern cutting, sampling, sewing, pressing, to quality control, and finishing, maintaining consistent excellence from first cut to final inspection.
Shared Values
Our collaboration is built on fundamental principles:
- Prioritizing precision and care over speed
- Valuing clean construction and balanced proportions
- Maintaining calm, respectful working conditions
- Growing sustainably while protecting quality standards
The craftsmanship extends beyond stitching, it's embedded in how the entire process is conducted, how people are treated, and how growth is managed. As AUVÉE expands, our makers' stability and wellbeing grow with us.
